Steal their Style: Little Mix
Little Mix are *THE* girlband of the minute, just finishing the UK leg of their Get Weird tour and releasing their latest music video for new single Hair (can we just talk about those hair flips?!). Whilst we are forever wishing we could be BFFs with the girls, we’re always eyeing up their incredible style too! It took a while but we’ve *finally* managed to whittle down our fave beauty looks from the girls and how you can achieve them too…
Pez is undoubtedly the fun and flirty one of the group, often pulling the silliest poses in her selfies, but one thing never changes and that’s her gorgeous tousled waves and smokey eye combo.
Get the look at home by curling 1 inch sections with a large barrel curling iron, making sure to curl hair away from the face. The key to this look is the ‘undone’ finish; use your fingers to comb through and break up perfect curls and ‘zhuzh’ up your style for that messy, I woke up like this finish.
For the makeup, Perrie accentuates her crystal blue eyes by using bronze tones, whilst defining with a matching eyeliner. Begin by sweeping a lighter, shimmery bronze shade across the eyelid, before using a darker matte brown in the crease to define and create that cat eye shape. Finish off by mixing the bronze and matte brown shades and bringing underneath your eyes, stopping just before the inner corner. Place a champagne coloured eyeshadow in the inner-corner of your eye to highlight and open up the eyes. For the final touch, add a spritz of Pink Vanilla Kiss Fantasy and you’re good to go!
Jade Thirlwall is no stranger to bold liner, often opting for a cat eye flick and a perfect nude pout, paired with glamorous waves. Recreate Jade’s look using an oval shaped, large barrelled curling wand to create big, voluminous waves. Like Perrie, you want to curl 1 inch sections away from the face, before brushing your style through for a more relaxed, glam finish.
Practice makes perfect when it comes to the cat eye, and less is always more. Begin by creating a thin line, following the shape of your eye. Once you are happy it’s time to flick out! Start from the last lash and draw a line upwards, creating that cat eye flick, before joining back in with your original line - now you can play around with the thickness of your liner. Even the best makeup artists find this tricky, so if you need to tidy up, use a pointed Q-tip to clean up any smudges or to perfect the flick. Finish the look with a mist of the bold and distinctive Twilight Mist.
The fiery one of the group, Jesy is rarely seen without a bright red lip and like Jade, teams it with a cat eye and glamorous waves combo. If you have *A LOT* of hair like Jesy, you’ll want to curl your hair in bigger sections, creating mega volume! Take 1.5inch pieces and alternate curling sections towards and away from the face to give a totally natural look.
To give the illusion of a fuller pout, Jesy uses a slightly darker lip liner, to outline her lips before filling in with lipstick. For an even plumper lip, place a matching or clear lipgloss in the centre of your lips to give the appearance of fullness - Kylie Jenner eat your heart out! Pair the finished look with a splash of sweet and uplifting Pink Grapefruit Fantasy!
Recently becoming a blonde, Leigh Anne favours a more natural look. Using soft and medium browns to define, Leigh Anne also uses liner to shape and open up her almond shaped eyes, using a nude eyeliner in the waterline to create the illusion of wider, brighter eyes. Begin by sweeping a light matte brown shade across the lid, before adding a medium matte brown to the crease and blending to create a subtly defined look. Using a pencil eyeliner, follow your lash line as closely as possible and blend to create a soft, smokey finish.
Whilst she might be a blonde bombshell at the moment, Leigh Anne is most known for her corkscrew curls. Get the look by using and slim 10mm curling iron, curling small sections of hair to create extreme body and volume. Once the hair is curled, use your fingers to break up the curls and make them more messy and textured. Be sure to add a spritz of soft and subtle Japanese Cherry Blossom to your outfit before you head out the door to complete the look!
